Ramakrishna Mission Charitable Dispensary

Charitable Dispensary

Started in 1933. Presently, on an average 140 to 150 patients per day benefit. Mainly allopathic treatments are provided on all days (except Sundays and holidays). The charitable dispensary is visited by around 25 allopathic doctors, one Homeopathy and one Siddha doctor. 


Different specialities in allopathy include - General, diabetics, ortho, Cardio, Gynec, dermatology, Peadiatrics, Neurology, ENT, Psychiatry, Dental, Physiotherapy, Ophthalmology.


A pharmacy with necessary allopathic medicines is being run in the dispensary premises. Medicines at highly concessional rates are provided to patients. Poor and needy patients are treated free of cost including medicines.

Free Multi-Speciality Medical Camps

Free Multi-speciality Medical Camps, with 8 to 10 doctors from various disciplines, and more than 10 volunteers is being conducted. On an average 2 camps per month conducted in the rural areas, in a range of 30 to 40kms in and around Salem town.

 

In the camps, patients do consultation with doctors and those who need ECG, Glucose tests, Eye tests, BP checks are done free of cost. As per Doctors prescriptions allopathic medicines are provided free of cost to the required patients.

 

After eye screenings, those requiring spectacles are provided within a week. Those patients identified with cataract are taken to the eye hospital for surgery. After surgery the patients are dropped back at the camp village.
