Ramakrishna Mission Free Tuition Centre
A free Tuition Centre from 6.00 p.m to 8.00 p.m daily (except Sundays) being conducted for around 140 poor and needy children in the age group of 5 to 17 years at Pudur Kallanguthur, an under privileged locality, Salem (about one km from Ashrama). Classes are being conducted with six qualified teachers and an in-charge, which was started in 2001.
10 computers in free tuition centre being used to train poor and underprivileged children in basic computer knowledge.
Eight teachers and one dedicated Volunteer as Supervisor are engaged to teach and take care of the students. Children are performing Yoga for about 15 minutes during closing session of the tuition class followed by a prayer. Weekly once, lives of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Saradadevi and Swami Vivekananda are being taught. Every quarter the height & weight of the students are noted.
The Students are being given an opportunity to serve as ‘volunteers’ in the various activities of the Ashrama during Jayanti celebrations, special functions & on Sundays and this brings out their pride contribution in serving and endows them with a sense of belongingness to the Ashrama. With these comprehensive facilities such as healthy food, education, hygiene, yoga, in-door games, moral and spiritual education, students are benefited in multi - dimensional activities.
All the parents are delighted and get relieved off from their worries as their burden of feeding healthy food, giving good education as all other man-making and character-buildingeducation of their children are being taken care under this project.
